Now, you can imagine how excited and hopeful I was when I finally reached the in-person interview stage for a company I was actually interested in. So kudos to all of you who are currently looking for a new job, it’s not fun or easy! Calling my job search journey mind numbing is an understatement, and it really challenged my determination and self-confidence. Therefore, these past eight months I’ve spent hours writing cover letters, memorizing interview questions and answers, taking phone interviews, networking and editing my resume. To give a little background on why I’m talking about interview outfits in the first place, I’ve been looking for a new job since last September. “We are super casual, so attire is what you are most confident and comfortable in.”Īll of a sudden, my grey sheath dress seemed a little too corporate, bland and like it hated all things creative. At least I thought it was, until I read the line below in an on-site interview email: It strikes the perfect balance flattering but not tooo flattering and it’s comfortable. It’s a simple, classic women interview outfit that requires only two pieces of clothing. That is my go-to outfit for every in-person job interview I’ve had. Grey sheath dress, black heels and a black cardigan.
